By Bridget Bennett, KSFY | SD Attorney General Marty Jackley announced South Dakota has joined 23 other states on a federal brief involving prayer during a legislative session.
This May the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case that will determine whether the U.S. constitution allows for prayer during legislative sessions, and if so, to what extent it’s allowed.
The 24 states are urging the U.S. Supreme Court to affirm that prayer during public legislative meetings is constitutional and allow states the discretion to define what extent of prayer is acceptable. (View Full Article)
