National Day of REASON, not PRAYER!

In UnitedCoR’s last newsletter, UnitedCoR’s Executive Director encouraged all local CoRs to get involved in the National Day of Action (starting Monday, May 4th) or to apply for local proclamations for Day of Reason for Thursday, May 7th. UnitedCoR is pleased to announce that Tom Gray—the new Coordinator for Omaha CoR in Nebraska—came away with not one, but TWO Day of Reason proclamations: one from the Governor of the State of Nebraska and one from the Mayor of the City of Bellevue. Congratulations go to Omaha CoR for being the first proclamation success.

On the other hand, Pat McCann—co-Coordinator for the Connecticut CoR—did not receive the proclamation that they had hoped to receive. Pat contacted UnitedCoR on April 6th, and after a few phone calls and digging around on the internet, UnitedCoR discovered that Connecticut CoR’s proclamation request was denied only AFTER the Honourable Governor Dannel P. Malloy agreed to a National Day of PRAYER proclamation! UnitedCoR’s emails and phone calls have yet to be returned from the Governor’s office, only raising more questions.
