Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) Benefit Dinner Resounding Success

Local humanist, atheist, and skeptic groups collect 360 lbs of food and raise $1,884.04 for Mid-Ohio Foodbank.

Final results are in for the November 8, 2012 FSM Benefit. 136 diners enjoyed the noodley goodness prepared by 35 volunteers from local humanist, atheist, and skeptic groups. This fun-filled event featured a raffle and silent auction of items donated by 10 area businesses and 11 local artists. Musicians alternated with presentations from various secular groups to entertain diners. Camp Quest and Chris Healy from the OSU Physics Department were on hand with activities for children of all ages.

The event was held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus and had financial support from the Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO). Diana Cunningham was the lead organizer and Agnes Vishnevkin served as master of ceremonies. Karen Thimmes, Alan Reed and Drew Stedman gave wonderful musical performances.
