Mansfield group and new Columbus group added as members of the Columbus Coalition of Reason in December.
Central Ohio United Non-Theists (COUNT) is a new group emphasizing volunteering and outreach in the Columbus area. COUNT’s projects help the world while positively affecting the lives and reputations of atheists and other non-believers. Starting in January 2013, COUNT meets on Thursday evenings to discuss upcoming projects and a weekly topic. COUNT manages membership and schedule using a Meetup site and operates a Facebook group to promote discussions among members and visitors.
Mid Ohio Atheists Incorporated (MOA) is an organization of like minded people in the Mansfield area. This nonprofit educational corporation committed to supporting atheists by providing opportunities for socializing and friendship, promoting secular viewpoints, encouraging a positive atheist culture, defending separation of church and state, supporting the civil rights of atheists, and affiliating with other organizations in pursuit of common goals. MOA has donated time/money to Harmony House, The Domestic Violence Shelter, Friends of Mansfield Parks, and the Adopt A Highway program. Social events include monthly meetings, pub nights, and a regional summer picnic. MOA operates a web site, Meetup site and a Facebook group.
