Secular folks will be having fun on 12/24 and 12/31.

5th Annual Xmas Eve Gathering for People who aren't Celebrating Xmas

Dawn Owar has invited the secular community to a gathering and Omnipresent Atheists (OA) is advertising it. [The editor has been to the last two such events and had a great time.] From the Meetup and Facebook events:

"Not everyone celebrates Xmas, but there's no need to sit home alone feeling sorry for yourself while the Christians of the world gather around their living room trees when you can come to Bodega [map] for cocktails with your fellow Non-Celebrators! Food/Drinks are your own responsibility so bring your wallets and have a safe way to get back home.Anyone who doesn't celebrate or isn't celebrating Christmas this year is welcome to turn up and come and go 7pm to close. This party is open to absolutely everyone so please invite all your Humanist, Jewish, Atheist and Non-Christian friends!!

"*Note: People who do celebrate Christmas are also welcome. Whether you have no family in town and you just want to hang out, or if you feel like swinging by after the family is in bed."

Freethinkers Big Bang Party 12/31

The First Unitarian Universalist (UU) Church Atheists Agnostics and Skeptics (AAS) group is sponsoring a New Year's Eve Potluck at the Church (93 W. Weisheimer Rd, Columbus) at 8:00 PM.

"Our theme is the BIG BANG – the "birth(day) of the Universe", with games, food, performances (cosmic juggling, celestial music) and merriment. The bash is OPEN TO ALL. Please join us (bring a dish to share) and see what we're planning for the new year, including speakers (Rev Bellitini), programs and lively discussions. Please RSVP to David Jon Krohn, [email protected]."

OA and the UU AAS are members of the Columbus Coalition of Reason.
