On Sunday, October 25, the Central Valley Alliance of Atheists and Skeptics will be hosting their 8th Annual Heretics’ Barbecue and fundraiser at Letterman Park in Clovis, CA. Non-theists will gather to advocate for progressive values, support the development and advancement of humanist thought, support the separation of government and religion, encourage rational thought and scientific inquiry, and provide a safe environment where humanists, other non-theists and those who are open to the values of humanism can work together to move society forward with a firm reliance on reason and humanity.

The featured speaker for the event is:
– Eddy Tabash— a constitutional lawyer in the Los Angeles area; Chair of the Board of Directors of the Center for Inquiry Transnational and Chair of the Legal Committee of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He is one of the most high-profile lawyers in the United States who is an expert on the separation of church and state.

Details regarding Mr. Tabash can be found at www.cvaas.org.

Letterman Park, 908 Villa Avenue, Clovis CA, 93612.

Sunday, October 20, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The social gathering is about realizing that our society, the world and our universe is a bigger, brighter and a more amazing place than ever imagined when viewed through the lens of humanism and non-theism. This year we will review the issues when religious opinions invade our laws and the consequences thereof. With laws limiting women’s ability to access necessary health benefits to continued opposition of marriage for many citizens, we need to be aware and active in the defense of our rights.
