The Silicon Valley Coalition of Reason is a coalition of local groups, each with a specific focus for our community of atheists, agnostics, humanists, and freethinkers in general.
*** We are: ***
Our community is a chapter of the Sunday Assembly. Sunday Assembly is the best bits of church but without reference to god, religious belief or the supernatural. It’s one hour, once per month, of guest speakers, inspirational readings, socializing and singing awesome pop songs. Many of us gather for lunch afterward.
In between Assemblies we host small group (“smoup”) events focusing on special interests and socializing.
While we are an atheist congregation we are not anti-religion. We simply celebrate life, love, and the world as it is—and the fact that, as far as we know, we only live once so we should make the best of it. If that appeals to you then please come join us for an hour of fun, inspirational talks and the singing of pop songs.
The Humanist Community in Silicon Valley
Our community is a chapter of the American Humanist Association. Our goal is to meet the social, intellectual, and emotional needs of humanists of all ages. We have weekly events and activities, including our children's program on Sundays.
The Atheist Community of San Jose (ACSJ) is an organization for atheists and like-minded non-believers, founded to develop and support the atheist community and to provide opportunities for socializing, philanthropy, education, and friendship. We promote a positive public perception of atheists and secularists, and work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
Atheists, Humanists, and Agnostics (AHA!) at Stanford is a joint graduate-undergraduate student organization that promotes freethought and rational discourse on the Stanford campus. We are proudly affiliated with the Secular Student Alliance and the Center for Inquiry On Campus, and are also on Facebook.
Camp Quest is designed for children, ages 8-17, from non-religious families including atheists, humanists, agnostics, freethinkers and others with a secular world view. They blend world-class science and critical thinking interactive activities with a traditional all-American outdoor camp experience. It's the scientific method paired with campfires and s'mores. Along the way they build community, letting children know that the secular community has something special to offer the world, role models to emulate, and a Humanist philosophy of respect and empathy.
Camp Quest West is the California affiliate of Camp Quest, Inc.
The Ethical Culture Society of Silicon Valley is a vibrant, caring community dedicated to cultivating ethical growth and action in its members and in the larger world. Ethical Culture is a humanistic religious, philosophical, and educational movement inspired by the ideal that the supreme aim of life is working to create a more humane society. Our focus is on how we live our lives. Our faith is in the capacity and responsibility of human beings to act in their personal relationships and in the larger community to help create a better world.
We are an atheist organization founded by atheists for atheists. We want to live religion-free lives and promote our U.S. Constitutional right of freedom from religion. We are affiliated with American Atheists, and are committed to:
* Defending the separation of government & religion, and the civil rights of atheists
* Promoting critical thinking, with science as our basis for knowledge
* Understanding our love and compassion
* Promoting respect toward all freethinkers
* Educating the public about atheists & atheism
* Meeting other atheists for mutual learning and enjoyment
The Bay Area Russell Set (BARS) is a local chapter of the Bertrand Russell Society, based in Silicon Valley. Our organization is named after the philosopher, mathematician, humanist, and peace activist Bertrand Russell. It is dedicated to exploring his ideas and advancing his ideals.

of De Anza College
D.A.M.N. is a home for nontheists at De Anza College where we can share our joy in reality, help our community and educate ourselves and others. We are an affiliate of the Secular Student Alliance.
We are a growing community of friendly and intelligent people dedicated to the spiritual, intellectual and social needs of south San Francisco Bay area humanists. Everyone is welcome to join our monthly potluck dinner/discussion parties usually held on the first Saturday of each month, at 6:00 pm, in the UUCPA (Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto) Fireside room. Discussion topics vary from the philosophical/religious, such as personal beliefs and ethics, to scientific topics of our day that range from evolution vs. creationism, to global warming, genetic engineering, cloning, Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins.
We are a small but dedicated group of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics, and humanists. We meet in Foster City the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. We choose articles, books and topics related to humanism and secular humanism.
We are affiliated with the Humanist Community in Silicon Valley and believe that Humanism is a philosophy of life based on science and reason rather than supernaturalism. The responsibility for our lives is ours and ours alone.
