Humanists of Linn County Raise $1,000 for Science Equipment

by Jase

We are proud to share this wonderful crowdfunding campaign that our friends in the Humanists of Linn County—a cooperating group within the Eastern Iowa Coalition of Reason—are currently conducting. According to the GoFundMe campaign’s description:

The Humanists of Linn County believe the education of our youth is critical. It is particularly important that they learn valuable critical thinking skills that come from a robust science curriculum.

In that spirit, we raised $600 to purchase science equipment for McKinley Middle School last year. This year our goal is to donate $1,000 of science equipment to Roosevelt Middle School. We will post the list of desired equipment in the next couple weeks.

Our intent is to establish an ongoing science fund for yearly donations to schools in Linn County, Iowa. If we surpass our goal on this campaign, those funds will establish this permanent fund.
